Paris Match, the French magazine that is considered as one of best in photojournalism around, auctions 75 photographs from its archives. These are non-fungible tokens.
This initiative has been carried out as a partnership with Focus Bloc – a platform that specializes in vintage photographic NFTs.
The auction features notable photos, including a September 1977 image of the famous Catalan artist Salvador Dalí in his extravagant villa in Cadaquès, captured by Benjamin Auger.
Another photograph is of Louis-Ferdinand Céline at 63, taken by François Pagès in Céline’s Meudon home. Jean-Claude Deutsch also captured a photo of Jane Birkin in 1973 with her former husband Serge Gainsbourg.
In addition to images of Jerry Lewis and Fernand Raymond, the collection includes Jean Seberg, Romain Gary and Jean Seberg.
You can currently bid on these photos at SuperRare. The starting bid is 0.3 ETH which roughly translates to $1 033 per photo. NFT customers will also get a free numbered photo print.
Paris Match has never before entered the NFT market. As well as other photography websites and magazines, they have also explored similar approaches to revive archived photos through NFTs.
