The stories that captivate and resonate with ordinary people seem to exist at a scale that is beyond the reach of any one of us. It seems that the narratives that resonate with people on a daily basis are at a level that is beyond our reach. The stories that involve economies, countries and companies can sometimes seem too big to be changed by an individual. This is not the real story of the world or the way we should understand ourselves. own Human potential is a human trait.
Many readers of this blog believe that Ethereum will play an important role in the big story in the sky. If this is the case, we need to ask: Who are our characters?
We try to understand Ethereum by looking at the human beings who use it as a protocol. We can better prepare ourselves for the future by examining the context and nuance in human stories.
Today we would like to introduce to you five individuals with fascinating stories, who are starting their Next Billion Fellowships in the Ethereum Foundation. These people are very qualified but they represent only a fraction of the many capable individuals who are working to find solutions to some of the most complex coordination issues facing humanity. We hope their stories will serve as a reflection of Ethereum’s true character and inspiration to how this open-source protocol can positively impact the lives billions.

Brian
Brian Limiardi Builds for financial Included in Indonesia as a co-founder Copra Finance. Devansh Mehta, cofounder of VoiceDeck. is interested mapping out the public good impact space. Impact methodologies and markets for environmental use cases are well-documented mechanisms, but sometimes ‘impact’ wanders into more subjective territory: Investigative journalism, for example, is undoubtedly a public good. How can the real work How can the value and documentation of journalists be incorporated into a funding mechanism that is appropriate? Devansh Will work With citizen journalism newsrooms, explore methods of impact documentation by using the hypercerts standard, aiming to find a mechanism that can retroactively fund positive social outcomes.
Masa
Masahiro “Masa” Fukuhara wants to spread the spirit of ONGAESHI, (恩返し, “To return a favor”( ) in the field of education. ONGAESHI DAO The study is examining mechanisms for retroactive solidarity payments to be made in the fields of education and employment. Masa, along with other ONGAESHI DAO members, will be learning from pilot programs that reward those who contribute to the public welfare of education such as teachers and funders when they hire students.
Mulenga
Mulenga Kapwepwe She is a co-founder of Women’s History Museum of Zambia. Many African artifacts are displayed in museums worldwide, but they rarely have a connection to the communities and people who created them. Mulenga, as part of her Fellowship, is working with the Zambian Web3 community to establish a tokenized artifact database, testing out museum revenue sharing in order to document the art, crafts, and customs still being practiced by descendants of items that are on display at museums around the globe. Even if they won’t be returned to their origins in the near future it is still a small step towards closing a century-long gap between ownership.
Valeriia
Valeriia “Ria” Panina He is an expert in user experience and a consultant to the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine. Ingenuity, tenacity and human coordination are essentials. The war in Ukraine proved this. Pragmatism can be a wise choice when it comes to evaluating how useful protocols like Ethereum could be in a crisis. During Ria’s Fellowship, Ria will conduct research on the drivers and barriers of adoption for cryptocurrencies and decentralized applications by ordinary users. She will map out emerging use cases in Ukraine.
