The Merge was a major event for Ethereum.org. The year has been exciting, from the growth of the layer 2 and scaling ecosystems to the Devcon’s first in three years. We have shipped many important features and contributed content.
Here are our highlights for 2022.
Translation Program🌎
The importance of translating educational Ethereum content into as many different languages as possible cannot be overstated. our team’s vision for ethereum.org. The community of contributors that we have today has evolved a lot since we became a multilingual website In 2019, we saw a continued increase in the number people who contributed to our translation programs and the number readers of non-English.
The numbers for 2022
- 3k new translators joined
- Translated 4.6 Million Words
- Visits in other languages (including English) are up to 28%, which is double the 2021 high.
Help us translate ethereum.org
The year 2022 was full of celebrations, but there is still a long road ahead to bring Ethereum education into the non-English speaking community. Check out the translation program if you are able to speak another language than English. This will make ethereum.org accessible to all!
Ethereum.org was founded in 1996. work There are thousands of amazing contributors and each contribution helps us create a great resource. ethereum.org also saw great engagement with many community-driven initiatives. In 2022, we reached 37,000 Discord users, an amazing 7,000 Crowdin subscribers, and the massive milestone of 1,000 total contributors on GitHub!
In particular, we can distinguish between our rollout of Typescript You can also find out more about the following: the UI library migration, we had over 50 code contributors 🤯!
Content was also provided by a number of contributors. This included pages on blockchain bridges, DeSci, decentralized identityAnd many more!
We can’t emphasize enough how much we appreciate each and every contributor ❤️. If you want to contribute and build ethereum.org 2023. check out our Q1 roadmap.
Open design system 📐
Since May 2022, our team has been developing the ethereum.org Design System. It took quite a bit of time to get there. work It took us a long time to perfect the design, but we are excited to finally share it. We will begin to implement the code for the new design system in Q1 of 2023.
The goal of creating a design-system is to allow designers to contribute to open-source software.source Ethereum community In 2023 we will continue to work We will work with the community to share our design process.

There are lots of new pages🥳
The year 2022 saw the largest amount of new content added to ethereum.org. We filled in many content gaps, and produced informative pages that were well received by over a million readers.
The website has more than 300 pages! Some of the highlights are:
- Layer 2Learn why Ethereum scales through rollups, and how to move to layer 2.
- Run a nodeHighlights the value of operating a node. own Node and Ethereum in general) and provides readers with resources that will help them run their node. own nodes.
- Staking hubThis article explains the stake process and the main benefits of various stake approaches.
- Introduction to Web3Explains the philosophy of Web3 and its current limitations.
- Energy consumptionThe Merge has had a significant impact on the energy consumption for Ethereum.
We’ll work with our community in 2023 to help fill the gaps and provide high-quality content for our readers. If you would like to help out, reach out to us on Discord.
See what we are working on next The following are some examples of how to use our quarterly roadmapOr you can create an issue Please let us know if you have any suggestions for content to be added to ethereum.org.
Find wallet👛
In 2022, we will also be relaunching our wallets. Users looking for their first wallet make up a large part of the traffic on ethereum.org. Our previous find a Wallet page was very difficult to navigate. work Comparing the features of wallets can be difficult for users, who may not know which wallet is best suited to their needs.
After several design iterations, we landed on creating an e-commerce-like experience—allowing users to filter wallets by specific features, compare features between wallets, and select user personas with recommended features.

Quizzes to help you learn more about Learn Hub and Learn🧠
Ethereum is constantly being used by new users. We spent a great deal of time in 2022 creating a better user experience. We are driven by the principle that content should be easy to understand. work These two initiatives are aimed at a specific subset of users.
Learn hub
We created the Learn Hub Because users were looking for a way to learn about Ethereum, but didn’t want to be overwhelmed by the information and pages available on our site. The Learn Hub offers a user-friendly guided journey that starts from the basics about cryptocurrencies and takes them through getting their first Ethereum wallet. They are also taught how Ethereum works and how to get involved in the Ethereum ecosystem.
Learning quizzes
We wanted to provide a structured path for learning Ethereum with the Learn Hub. We also wanted to make it more fun, increase retention and gamify the learning process. In order to do this, learning quizzes were created. Each quiz contains several questions with many possible answers. After submitting the answer, users are given explanations to help them learn when they make mistakes.
We have eight pages of learning quizzes and we plan to add more pages and functionality in 2023. These are a lot of fun! Take a look at them:
The Merge🌳
The Ethereum 2022 event is the largest Ethereum event to date. The Merge. We audited our entire website to identify content that might need changes once Ethereum switched over to proof-of-stake.
We created new pages in addition to updating hundreds of existing pages. proof-of-stake frequently asked questions, proof-of-stake vs proof-of-work, how blocks are produced on proof-of-stakeAnd many more.
See the following three initiatives for more information:
Other Projects🏃♂️
In addition to our core product, ethereum.org we also spent a lot time working on other important projects for the success of Ethereum. You can check out each one in detail, but we won’t.
Looking forward👀
After so many achievements, ethereum.org Community has much to celebrate in 2022. Many thanks to the many contributors.
We have a lot of work to do to build the most comprehensive resource on Ethereum.
You can help us! You can now download the latest version of our Q1 product roadmap. Please check it out and let us how you would like to be involved🙏
