The move coincides with the increasing institutional adoption of Bitcoin in the United States, especially after the recent approvals of several Bitcoin ETFs. Brave said that Bitcoin is expanding beyond its peer-to-peer payment capabilities to include store-of-value and innovation in fields like NFTs, DeFi and other areas.
“Our aim with Brave Wallet is to offer the most secure and privacy-considerate software wallet for everyday use,” said James Mudgett, VP Web3 Products at Brave. “As the Bitcoin ecosystem expands with new apps and services, Brave Wallet will be there to put security and privacy first, to help keep users’ assets safe.”
Brave plans to add more privacy features to Brave Wallet in the near future. Brave will also allow users to save BRC-20 tokens as well as Ordinals into Brave Wallet. This feature is expected to become available in all desktop versions and mobile versions by the end of this year.
