Eurex announced that it has added Ethereum Futures Index and Options to its existing portfolio.

In a Thursday announcement, the Deutsche Börse-backed derivatives exchange unveiled that its new product, FTSE Ethereum Index Futures and Options, is set to launch on Aug. 12, following the 2023 introduction of FTSE Bitcoin Index Futures and Options.

Newly listed futures and options will be offered in EUR and USD based on FTSE Ethereum Index. Each contract represents 10 ETH, or approximately $35,000 at the time of publication. According to the exchange, both contracts will have a cash settlement and expire at midnight on Fridays of each month.
Eurex reports that the index was developed by FTSE Russell and Digital Asset Research in collaboration to meet EU Benchmarks. The data is gathered from assets and exchanges which have been vetted. “volume time-weighted average of the FTSE DAR Digital Asset Price over a 15 minute period prior to the fixing time.”
