Michael Saylor, CEO of MicroStrategy announced a private offering for $500 Convertible Notes Senior to help fund the purchase of more Bitcoin. According to a press release MicroStrategy will use the net proceeds generated from the sales of these notes for corporate and general purposes. It is the second time they have announced that money will be raised to purchase more Bitcoin in this manner.
MicroStrategy said in a press release that the notes would be senior, unsecured obligations of MicroStrategy. Interest will be paid semi-annually, in arrears each March 15th and September 15th of every year starting on September 15, 2020. MicroStrategy led by Saylor has been among the largest investors in Bitcoin for the last few years. They are now looking to purchase even more Bitcoin with their customers’ help.
MicroStrategy expects to offer the first purchasers of senior notes the option to buy up to $75,000,000 of additional principal within 13 days, starting on the day the note is issued and ending on the following date.
