Deneb

Deneb, a distributed consensus system, requires changes to the Engine API. This API is used for communication among the nodes of the execution and consensus layers. These are outlined in the cancun.md file You can also check out the ethereum/execution-apis repository.
Client Releases
Dencun is supported by the following client releases Sepolia and Holesky. The mainnet support will be enabled with the release of new versions. When these versions are released, we will make an announcement on this blog.

What do I have to do as a non-Sepolia node operator, or staker?
There is nothing to announce at this time. Dencun mainnet activation will be announced in the future. You can subscribe to an email alert. here.

What happens to me if I am not a Sepolia, Holesky staker/node operator? upgrade?
The Ethereum client you use will sync with the pre-fork Blockchain if it is not the latest version. upgrade occurs.
You will remain on an old, incompatible blockchain and be unable send Ether to anyone or use the post-Dencun Ethereum Network.
What should I be doing as a tool or application developer?
Dencun includes a number of EIPs that can affect your project. Only the EIPs that have backwards compatible implications are EIP-6780, EIP-7044 You can also find out more about the following: EIP-7514.
Why? “Dencun”?
Upgrades of the consensus layer will use star names and those of the execution layer will follow Devcon city name. “Dencun” Deneb, an astronomical star with a magnitude of one in the Cygnus constellation and Cancun as the site for Devcon 3 are combined.
